Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.88%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.88%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.79%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.43%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which rose 3.06% or 17.600 points to trade at 593.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 2.96% or 1.083 points to end at 37.703 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 2.66% or 2.45 points to 94.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which fell 1.62% or 1.010 points to trade at 61.300 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) declined 0.82% or 0.340 points to end at 41.315 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was down 0.15% or 0.12 points to 79.65.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 3.43% to 23.395, Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which was up 3.05% to settle at 36.520 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 2.33% to close at 5.410.

The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which was down 1.77% to 29.43 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which lost 1.54% to settle at 152.57 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 1.02% to 58.230 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 4.77% to 15.830, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which was up 3.81% to settle at 136.300 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 3.59% to close at 32.360.

The worst performers were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 2.02% to 23.26 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 1.77% to settle at 29.43 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 0.92% to 34.530 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 516 to 184 and 71 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.06% or 17.600 to 593.000. Shares in Uniper SE (DE:UN01) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.05% or 1.080 to 36.520. Shares in Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.59% or 1.120 to 32.360.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 10.06% to 21.19.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.54% or 27.45 to $1751.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.34% or 0.97 to hit $73.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.86 to trade at $77.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1739, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8540.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 93.060.
