The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 2.29% or 0.680 points to trade at 29.060 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) declined 2.22% or 1.280 points to end at 56.485 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was down 2.19% or 1.605 points to 71.540.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which rose 12.36% to 56.35, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was up 4.80% to settle at 6.665 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 3.55% to close at 129.950.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 5.57% to 34.60 in late trade, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which lost 4.04% to settle at 63.260 and Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 3.76% to 20.480 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.55% to 129.950, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 3.07% to settle at 42.200 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 1.99% to close at 41.35.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 4.31% to 23.300 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 3.37% to settle at 19.81 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 3.12% to 44.080 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 446 to 211 and 27 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.00% to 22.18.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.06% or 1.10 to $1837.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.31% or 1.96 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.05% or 1.98 to trade at $50.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.2114, while EUR/GBP rose 1.25% to 0.9128.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 90.938.
